I am a BABCP accredited CBT Psychotherapist.

For Cognitive Behaviour Therapy the only accrediting body for the UK is the BABCP (British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies). If your CBT therapist isn’t BABCP accredited, they probably haven’t had a specialist, extensive post-graduate CBT training at Masters level.

The CBT Register UK is a public register of accredited BABCP members. BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the UK and Ireland. The aim of the Register is to protect the public, employers and other agencies by helping them find CBT therapists who have met BABCP required standards.

Accreditation means that a CBT therapist has both core professional mental health training, as well as specific CBT training. To be accredited by BABCP, therapists must have applied and demonstrated that they meet high standards of training and experience in CBT.

Accreditation demonstrates a commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical practice, clinical supervision and continuing professional development. Accredited members are audited by BABCP to ensure that they continue to meet these expectations.

All members agree to abide by BABCP Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics. Complaints about members who may have breached these standards can be made using the complaints and disciplinary process. for BABCP members.

I receive regular clinical supervision, and unusually for a CBT Therapist, I also continue my own personal therapy as I believe that if you provide therapy you should be in therapy doing your own work. I regularly attend training and workshops to maintain my own continuing professional development.

I am fully accredited with BABCP and am also registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England.

I am GDPR compliant and follow best practice guidelines for storage of personal data and notes and will discuss this with you during our first session.

I also hold full liability insurance with Balens.
